— No, although the cinema, certainly, produced the enormous impression on me, it was in general one of the first films of horrors, that I looked.

A «nightmare in the street of Elms» is a juvenile film, and children love frightful fairy-tales, and I loved them, and, think, you also. — And did you, certainly, nurture hope to play Gamlet? — I will let down you, maybe, but in the plays of Shakespeare I played already. So I understood: there is nothing bad in that appearance of Kryugera glued to me firmly. In fact I in the cinema already 30 years and knew actors better than me, which shone, and now businesses keep bad time so for them, that they insurances sell. For me popularity until now such, that I to down street can not pass quietly. So I am a rad, that it was fated me to create appearance which became legend of genre. Famous Boris Karloff also remained in memory as Frankenstein and not at all from it suffered.
— do Your children love appearance of Kryugera also?
— Unfortunately, I do not have children, only dogs. Got married very lately — in 48 years, because I did not have time on the personal life. I constantly was on surveys, in departures, on film festivals is was as an endless conveyer, slept for three hours in days. Time on that, to lead children, did not remain, what I now spare about: maybe, they would compel my character somehow to change.

Freddy is in Russia!

— Can but as Freddy Kryuger change? Will he begin to dream international terrorists or conduct in sleep the courses of rehabilitation for repenting maniacs?
— Without ceremony. There was such scenario which it was not begun to incarnate in the cinema. In general, there one girl, admirer of films with Kryugerom, goes down from a mind and begins to kill children in a small town, and Freddy comes, to stop it. But this subject did not «roll» off — a kind maniac needs nobody, the audience of not it wait from him. Although from the first part of «Nightmare» it was necessary to cut out a few moments which seemed to us bloodcurdlingly frightful, — especially wherein Kryuger gives to drink a victim blood. The director looked at it and said: «Oh yeah on figs, I then will» not sleep at night, — and cleaned.
— You once or twice were in Russia on surveys. Did something please?
